# Public Health ## What is Public Health ? **Public health is defined as the “science and art of preventing disease.”** The aim of public health is to prolong life and well-being by creating an organized effort to improve sanitation and prevent the spread of disease. Simply put, the goal of public health is to keep society from getting sick.
